General information
- There is no fee for borrowing from the library
- You can borrow books, periodicals, music, videos, DVD's and CD-ROM's
- You can borrow language-teaching courses
- You can borrow foreign language books
- There is no charge for using the internet at the library
- A personal computer is available with programs in word processing.
- You can use your own computer and get access to the internet through our wireless network

Danish libraries are specialists in finding answers to your information questions
- The library can obtain items from other libraries in Denmark and abroad
- Ask the librarian if there is something you require
Find your way around the library
- All of the library's items are
computer registered. When you
choose our library system SORBA you can also choose to see the helping
text in English
- The library's computers will show a full item registration of the library. You can search for a particular book or CD - or a certain subject. You can see if the item has been borrowed, and when it is due to be returned
- From your own computer on Sorø library's homepage you can search the library database
- Everyone can use the library
- There is no fee for borrowing books,
music or other library
items
Users of 16 years and older use
their social security
card
as a library card. This card is personal, and you are liable for all
transactions made on this card. If you lose your card you must
immediately inform the library, so that your card can be temporarily
blocked for borrowing. First time you visit the library you will get a
pin
code, which consist of 4 numbers. You can use this code for borrowing.
You
can also use the code when you visit our library system (SORBA) from
your computer and make reservations of books or other materials.
Children - younger than 16 years - can get a special library card. They
do need their social security card the first time they visit the
library.
Loan period, renewals and reservations
The loan period is usually a month, it
can be shorter for certain
items. You can usually renew your loaned items.
You may only renew twice.
The date of return is indicated on your borrowing receipt. Payments for late returns are as follows:

The right to borrow is void, if you owe more than 200 kroner.
The borrower is liable for lost or damaged items, these must be replaced after current prices.
